Message from the Superintendent

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year.

We are excited to start the new school year with all students coming back to campus. We are so looking forward to starting a new school year with all the anticipation and excitement that comes with it. The first day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23rd with our normal schedule. Transition day will be August 22rd for our 3, 5, 7, and 9th grade students. The buildings will provide additional information about start and end times for Transition Day.  Bus service will be available for students on transition day. Meet the Teacher Night is another important date to note.  Meet the Teacher night in all buildings is August 18th from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., hope to see you there.

Dr. Wayne Burke has started his role as Deputy Superintendent for the 2022-23 school year, with the plan of moving into the Superintendent role in the Fall of 2023.  Dr. Burke joins us from Spring Hill, Kansas.  He is enjoying getting to know the Pleasant Hill community.  I hope you get an opportunity to welcome him to Pleasant Hill.

We have set the date for centralized enrollment at the High School for Wednesday, August 3rd. The enrollment process will be similar to last year. The process is being held for one day only and is not required if you choose to complete the paperwork and residency verification online prior to August 3rd. Also, meal services will be back to a fee program, so please plan accordingly and if needed fill out the Free/Reduced lunch application in your online packets. Lunch applications are also at Central Office.  We will have principals back in the buildings starting July 26th. Our remaining staff will return to campus on August 16th with our Vendor Fair and Convocation. We look forward to seeing everyone and having a great year.

Our students and staff did a great job adapting and learning throughout the 2021-22 school year. We are excited to have the Class 2 Wrestling State Champions returning after successfully defending their title, while preparing to make a strong run for a three-peat. We look forward to another successful year in our academics and activities departments. We ended the year with several Conference and District titles.  Many All-Conference, All-District, and All-State awards were handed out to our students this past year. Not to mention the academic honors and scholarships that were awarded to numerous students throughout the 21-22 school year.  We are very proud of the successes our students have accomplished and are excited to see what this year brings.

We have had lots of work done in the Elementary, Primary, Middle School and Eklund Field over the summer. We hope you get to stop into each of the buildings and check out the improvements that have been completed!  We have many more occurring throughout the 22-23 school year.  Thank you for your support to make this happen.  We would love to see everyone out supporting the many Fall programs we have and cheering the Roosters and Chicks on in all their activities.

Go Roosters! Go Chicks! Go Pleasant Hill!

Message from the Assistant Superintendent

I am excited for the 2022-2023 school year. Our students and staff have much to look forward to this school year.  Several of our bond projects are occurring throughout the district this school year.  I am excited for our students and community to experience the new additions in our schools.  Pleasant Hill School District continues to have a rich tradition of academic excellence, student achievement, athletic success, instructional  prowess, staff engagement, and community involvement.  As a district, we will continue to be intentional with our planning and collaboration among our stakeholders.  Through our ongoing partnership, we will continue the tradition of success in the Pleasant Hill School District. I am excited to see the successes the 22-23 school year brings. Please contact me if I can be of any assistance.
