Message from the Superintendent

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year.

We are excited to start the new school year with all students coming back to campus and returning to a new version of normal. We are very proud of our students, staff, and community for the positive approach everyone took in completing a school year that had many obstacles and uncertainties. Even with the unusual year, our students and staff accomplished many things, and they rose above all challenges that came their way. I can’t say enough about the resilient approach our students, staff and community took in working through these challenges. The 2021-22 school year will still have some unknown, but we are planning on starting Tuesday, August 24th with all students in attendance with our normal schedule. Transition day will be August 23rd for our K, 3, 5, 7, and 9th grade students. Bus service will be available for students on transition day.

We will still be working with our local health authorities related to COVID and county infection rates. We are planning on starting school with mask wearing as optional, as the infection rate has been low. We will be monitoring and communicating any new information throughout the year, and may need to adjust this plan during the year.

We have set the date for centralized enrollment at the High School for Wednesday, August 4th. The enrollment process will look a little different this year. The process is being held for one day only and is not required if you choose to complete the paperwork and residency verification online prior to August 4th. We will have principals and secretaries back in the buildings starting August 3rd. Our remaining staff will return to campus on August 18th with our Vendor Fair and Convocation. We look forward to seeing everyone and having a great year.

Go Roosters! Go Chicks! Go Pleasant Hill!

Message from the Assistant Superintendent

I am excited and honored to join the Pleasant Hill School District for the 2021-2022 school year.  I just completed twenty-three years of education experience all in the Raytown School District prior to joining Pleasant Hill.  Throughout my twenty-three years, I taught at the elementary level, held a literacy coach position, a district curriculum coordinator position, and was an elementary principal.  Pleasant Hill has a rich tradition of academic excellence, student achievement, athletic success, instructional  prowess, staff engagement, and community involvement.  I am committed to continuing these traditions in the Pleasant Hill School District. This will be accomplished through intentional planning and continuous collaboration among our stakeholders.  I look forward to getting to know the staff, students, parents, and community in the coming months.  Through our partnership, we will continue the tradition of success in the Pleasant Hill School District.  Please contact me if I can be of any assistance.
