Safe and Drug Free Student Survey -grades 6-12

The Missouri Department of  Mental Health (DMH) will disseminate the Missouri Student Survey (also known as the Safe and Drug Free Schools Survey) during the 2023-24 school year. Students are not asked to identify themselves, and no individual student responses will be reported by DMH or the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)

This year, DMH is requesting that school district’s collect data from at least one classroom in every grade level from grades 6-12 in each district building. Pleasant Hill Middle School was randomly selected for all 7th and 8th grade classrooms to participate in this collection of data. More student data may increase the district’s data reliability and, therefore, it is recommended to collect as many student responses as possible. The survey will be open from January 8-March 29, 2024.

The building administrators will send out specific information about when the survey will be administered in their buildings. As always, parents and students may opt out of participating in the surveys- please see the information from building principals.
